What is the difference between a wig and a topper?
A wig provides full coverage, replacing the appearance of all your bio hair.
A topper blends with your natural hair, adding volume or coverage at the crown or parting.
If you’re unsure which option suits you best, a consultation will help guide your decision.
What sizes of wigs do you stock?
I mainly stock Small wigs, with XS and Medium sizes also available. If you require a different size, this can be made-to-order pieces.
What size are your toppers?
My topper size is 8” x 8”, which offers generous coverage while still blending seamlessly with your natural hair.
How do I know if I need a wig or a topper?
You may prefer a wig if:
- you want full coverage
- you experience significant hair loss
- you prefer not to blend with your natural hair
You may prefer a topper if:
- you still have enough bio hair for blending
- you want added volume or thickness
- you prefer something lighter than a full wig

What is the FlexFit Wire?
My exclusive FlexFit Wire sits discreetly at the front of my toppers. It gently moulds to the shape of your head, helping the topper sit more securely without added tension or discomfort.
What type of cap do you use?
My wigs are crafted using hand-tied lace tops for natural movement and parting flexibility. This construction allows the hair to mimic natural growth.
Are your wigs human hair?
Yes. All my wigs are made from premium Eastern European human hair for the most natural movement and styling versatility.
Can I part the wig anywhere?
Yes. The lace top allows flexible parting so you can change your look easily.
How long will my wig last?
With correct care, your wig can last many months to years. Longevity depends on how often it’s worn, how it’s styled, and how it’s cared for.
Can I try both wigs and toppers during my consultation?
Yes. My Wig & Topper Consultation (1.5 hours) allows you to try both options so you can compare coverage, fit, and blending.

Do you offer in-person consultations?
Yes, my In-Person Consultations are held in my private space in Pangbourne.
In Person Consultations Options -
Wig Consultation (1 hour — £30) - Try on ready-to-ship wigs, learn about sizing and construction, and explore personalised options. If you’d like a different size or length, this can be made to order.
Wig & Topper Consultation (1.5 hours — £40) - A deeper session where you can compare both wigs and toppers, assess coverage needs, and try multiple pieces.
What can I expect during an in person consultation?
You can try ready-to-ship pieces, compare colours, and learn about topper vs wig suitability.
Can I take a piece home on the same day?
Yes. Ready-to-ship pieces are available to purchase during your appointment.
What is your cancellation policy?
I’m happy to reschedule once for free.
All bookings are otherwise non-refundable.
How should I prepare for my consultation?
- Please arrive with clean hair and no scalp oils
- Avoid heavy perfumes, as they can transfer to the hairpieces
Can I book a haircut appointment?
I don't offer standalone haircut services. Haircut customisation is offered exclusively during a wig consultation or collection appointment.
For future adjustments, I also offer a remote, postal wig customisation service. You can find further details here.
Haircut Customisation
Do you offer haircuts on your wigs and toppers?
Yes. I provide a remote professional cutting services for both Wigs by Kirstie wigs and toppers. Options include:
- Fringe/bang trims (£30 + VAT)
- Topper haircuts (£75 + VAT)
- Wig haircuts (£100 + VAT)
You can request layers, face-framing, reshaping, or a completely new length. Read more information here
Can I order a wig or topper in a different size or length?
Yes, different lengths, and cap sizes can be made-to-order and ready in up to 6 weeks.
Wig Spa
What is the difference between Wig Spa Refresh and Wig Spa Restore?
Wig Spa Refresh is designed for wigs that need a professional cleanse, deep condition and restyle.
Wig Spa Restore includes everything in Refresh, plus targeted reventilation (re-knotting) along the hairline and parting to address light thinning and extend the wearable life of your wig.
Which Wig Spa service do I need?
Choose Refresh if your wig simply needs washing, deep condition and restyling.
Choose Restore if you're noticing light thinning around the hairline or parting and would benefit from targeted reventilation.
Who can book Wig Spa services?
Wig Spa services are exclusively available for wigs purchased directly from Wigs by Kirstie.

Ordering, Shipping, Returns & Payments
Do you accept returns?
Returns are accepted on unused, unaltered ready-to-ship wigs and toppers within the stated return window.
Custom-made or customised pieces (cut, coloured, altered) are final sale. Full details here.
Can I return a wig or topper that has been customised?
No — once a piece has been cut, coloured, or otherwise altered, it cannot be returned.
